Our story
"We could make that."
Layer By Layer Creations is a Canberra-based small business built from a shared interest in making, collecting, problem-solving and creating practical products from an idea.
The business grew from years of experimenting with 3D printing, producing items for ourselves, friends and family and continually finding new ways to use digital fabrication to solve everyday problems or create something unique.
Our interest in collector displays developed from our own experience as LEGO® collectors. As the collection grew, so did the need for attractive, protective display solutions. We found that premium display cases were difficult and expensive to source locally, which led us to begin developing our own acrylic display products for Australian collectors.
What we do today
From an idea to something real
As we explored new products and manufacturing methods, a common theme kept emerging: "We could make that." Whether it was a better way to display something, a personalised product, a useful accessory or an idea that simply deserved to exist, that mindset encouraged us to keep learning, experimenting and expanding what we could create.
From there, Layer By Layer Creations grew into laser cutting and engraving, custom 3D printing, personalised products, apparel, decals and other creative fabrication services.
We both enjoy the process of taking an idea, working out how to make it practical and turning it into something tangible. That same approach sits behind everything we do today – from catalogue products to one-off custom jobs.
Our goal is to build a sustainable Australian business around work we genuinely enjoy, while offering customers well-made products, thoughtful customisation and a personal approach to bringing their ideas to life.
